Did you know that Biscarosse is a French commune authorized to produce the wines of the appellations Comté Tolosan and Landes?
- The Comté Tolosan is a European label IGP which means "Protected Geographical Indication".
This appellation is reserved for still and sparkling quality red, rosé and white wines and for wines made from overripe white grapes.
The red wines are characterized by fruity aromas.
Rosé wines have fruity aromas, associated with freshness.
The dry whites are characterized by their floral and fruity aromas.
The best vintages for the white Comté Tolosan were the years: 1983, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2005.
- Les Landes is a European IGP label which means "Protected Geographical Indication".
Les Landes wine also has the mention "departmental" which means that the production extends to the whole area of the given department.
The wines of the Landes appellation produced in the commune of Biscarrosse can be tasted in white, red and rosé.
These wines are said to be "still", meaning that they do not form bubbles when the bottle is opened. They are not sparkling.
