Created in 1988 thanks to donations made by families, the Museum of Traditions presents a real panorama of the traditional heritage of the Landes. It explains how the dunes were formed, the lakes that hide archaeological sites in their waters, the exploitation of the Landes forest, gemmaging and resin exploitation as well as all the rural and artisanal activities.
Furniture, tools, objects and various documents are on display, after having been highlighted by the volunteers of the association. Documents and models allow to trace the evolution of the local geography (dunes, lakes).
In open or guided visits, discover the history of the commune, the local culture, the landscapes and the way in which man has shaped his environment over the years.
Also take advantage of a boat trip to discover the Biscarross marshes. Silence and a change of scenery will be the order of the day! The museum also has its educational farm!
Dates and opening hours of the museum in Biscarrosse
- From 14 April to 30 June and from 1 to 15 September: open from 2 to 6 p.m., closed on Sunday and Monday
- July and August: open from 9.30 am to 7 pm, closed on Sundays
- Adults: 5 €
- Children (from 5 to 12 years old): 4 €
- Children (under 5 years old): free of charge
